Job Description
The role of the Patient Service Representative (PSR) is to provide "Extraordinary Care" to patients and customers through friendly, caring, courteous, and professional services. A successful PSR becomes the patient’s advocate and works to facilitate resolution of patient accounts by working with insurance companies, government agencies and patients in the payment for services that have been provided. The PSR has the opportunity to use their valuable skills and resources by responding to questions, researching discrepancies and insurance denials and following Intermountain’s policies and procedures for billing and account management. Completing these duties provides the PSR the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of many on a daily basis.
The Patient Service Rep will answer incoming calls, assist patients with scheduling and reschedule appointments, make reminder calls for appointments, check-in patients upon arrival, assemble charts and pull medical records. The front desk is a busy and fast paced environment, checking in 40 to 90 patients per day, with multiple things going on throughout the day. The PSR must be organized and have ability to change tasks throughout the day.
This position is a member of the rehabilitation team at Park City Medical Center. Entry Rate: $11.70 Benefits Eligible: Yes Shift Details: Part-time working 24 hours per week. Shifts are currently Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Department: Physical Therapy Department at Park City Medical Center
Minimum Requirements
- Two or more years of customer service experience involving interactions with customers in person and by phone
- Keyboarding / Data entry experience for scheduling appointments and entering patient information
- Demonstrated good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Hearing / Listening, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Speaking
Preferred Qualifications
- Clerical experience in a professional office setting, experience in a Physical Therapy or Rehab setting highly preferred
- Prior experience scheduling patient appointments
- Experience with health insurance authorization helpful
