Job Description
This position is responsible for billing, follow-up, and or resolving issues that delay or prevent payment of the patient’s account within Intermountain’s policies and procedures. This specialist level is focused on vendor or legal related tasks which have a higher level of complexity than the tasks assigned to the patient services representative role. Employees assigned to this level may work on issues relating to Power of Attorneys, HIPAA, Unconditional Guarantees of Payment and other legal documentation, Liens, Bad Debt Recalls, Medicaid reports, Late Charges and Rebills, Divorce Decrees, serve as the liaison between Intermountain and Bad Debt Vendors, work on Bad Debt Inventory and Reconciliation, and serve as a resource for complex disputes.

Minimum Requirements
- Three years customer service experience within the last five years.
- One or more years of experience working with billing systems and processes, preferably in a patient services role, with knowledge of rules and regulations governing bad debt and patient collections.
- Two or more years of experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications.
Physical Requirements
- Seeing, speaking, listening/hearing and manual dexterity
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of clerical work experience in a medical setting
- One or more years of insurance billing experience
- One or more years of negotiation or collections work experience
- Intermediate Spanish speaking skills
- Intermediate proficiency with Medical Terminology
- Previous work experience with Intermountain scheduling or RCO functions
