Job Description
A phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients of various age groups as directed by the physician utilizing approved collection techniques.  Although the primary function is to collect blood and other samples for testing, the job begins at the first contact with the patient.  Lab procedures can be a distressing prospect for most patients and the phlebotomist must be able to put the patient at ease while simultaneously prepping the patient with tourniquets and disinfectant, and then drawing the blood as painlessly as possible. It is also the Phlebotomist’s responsibility to accurately label each sample making sure it contains the correct patient identifiers and tests required. The phlebotomist must be prepared to work with a variety of complications that may arise from patient conditions or allergies and be able to adapt their procedure and equipment to each unique situation. The phlebotomist may also provide additional help in other areas of the laboratory including answering phones and general customer service.
Full time, 40 hours per week - Typically working Monday-Friday 8-4:30, rotating Saturdays.
Starting salary:  $11.21/hour - benefits eligible.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED in compliance with CLIA regulations

The Zero Harm Secretarial role is designed to assist course instructors and Hospital Administration's efforts for the Zero Harm Initiative.  
Job Essentials:
Pre-Class approximately (1.5 Hours)
  • Reminder email to all employee participants

The Registrar is often the first person our patients meet on their arrival to the hospital and is crucial to creating a positive experience. By providing exceptional customer service, the registrar helps the patient feel comfortable and at ease as they accurately collect patient data and obtain all necessary demographic, financial, and clinical information.  They articulate billing process information and discuss insurance benefits, cost estimates, collect co-pay amounts, and identify financial assistance resources if needed. They direct the patient to the care area and identify potential wait times if any.   By providing complete and accurate information, the patient stays informed and knows what to expect during their hospital visit.   Registrars impact patient’s lives every day and truly make a difference to those they serve. This position has the adaptability to provide a flexible work schedule with the opportunity to be a part of a valley wide floating registrar team serving LDS Hospital, Alta View Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, Riverton Hospital, The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, and Primary Children's Medical Center.  This team works in various areas of registration such as ERs, lab, radiology, admitting, call center and surgery check-in.  This position does have on call requirement with the expectation of arrival to the assigned facility within 30 minutes after receiving the call.  The selected candidate must have reliable transportation.   
Training for this position requires selected candidate to be available for 6 consecutive weekdays a (typically Tuesday - Monday) from 8:00am - 4:30pm.  
Some positions also require the ability to perform in visually graphic and emotionally difficult situations, i.e. Emergency Room Department. 
This is a PRN (as required) position.  There are no guaranteed shifts.  The selected candidate must have access to the internet because all shifts are scheduled on-line with little advance notice.  Must be flexible with broad availability to work varying shifts, shifts start as early as 5:00am.  Staffing is required seven days a week and holidays.  

Entry Pay Rate:  $11.70  
Shift Details:  PRN/PT/ON CALL (as needed) It will be mandatory to work 16 hours per week and/or 64 hours every 4 weeks

The Office Coordinator works to enhance the reputation of the providers and staff of Intermountain by creating a positive patient experience.  The Office Coordinator helps patients and customers feel welcome and at ease by providing exceptional customer service when greeting them in person or over the phone.  They are responsible for the day-to-day activities of the clinic or department  including effective patient/clinic coordination, scheduling of appointments, registration, cashiering functions, and data entry of appropriate physician charges.The Office Coordinator works with minimal supervision and provides administrative support to department staff as needed.  The Office Coordinator is vital to Intermountain’s success in providing exceptional patient care and has the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of those they serve.

Minimum Requirements
  • One or more years medical office experience required
  • Must have intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Trouble shooting/problem solving skills, organization/prioritization/project coordination skills
  • Communication skills both verbal and written required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required
  • Must be proactive and have a positive attitude
  • Keyboarding skills of 65 WPM (words per minute)
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in appearance and conduct under varying levels of stress
Preferred Qualifications
  • Kronos experience
  • Three or more years secretarial of office coordinator experience
  • One or more years of GE Centricity Business (IDX), Help2, and AS400 experience
  • Supervisory or Lead experience in a medical environment setting
  • One or more years experience training employees

Job Description
Help members find appropriate care by advising them on the different types of care provided by physicians, dentists, facilities and other medical professionals.  Advocates triage for access, directs callers to the proper place for care, and screens for potential access problems. 
 Job Essentials
  1. Takes inbound calls from members requesting help finding a physician.  Gathers office and clinical information from providers to help guide members to the provider’s practice.  Guides members to use participating providers on their health plan and guides them to the appropriate place for their care.
  2. Prepares the member for their office visit by helping them understand how to use their health insurance.
  3. Provides information and advises when a patient or physician requests care from a provider who does not participate with the member’s plan.  While following company guidelines, helps facilitate patient access to care with one of these providers.
  4. Prepares for reviews by gathering medical records from providers the member has already seen.  If not able to approve the request, may send it to the Utilization Management Department.
  5. Makes outbound calls for compliance with NCQA guidelines upon request.
  6. Coordinates member needs with Member Services, Care Management, Provider Relations, Marketing / Sales, Appeals and Pharmacy.
  7. Complies with established auditing criteria. Stays current and conversant on general plan design and modifications to provide accurate and appropriate information
  8. Educates callers on which physicians are on their plan and coordinates acquiring benefit information from a customer service representative. Makes exception / empowerment decisions within the established exception policy.
  9. Follows established guidelines to complete pre-notifications/pre-certifications for members and providers for Failed Access.
