Canyon View Medical Group is seeking a clinical employee who will be performing responsibilities in both medical assisting and lab work. The ideal candidate will deliver quality customer service and maintain established quality control standards. The Medical Assistant/Lab Technician assists in the care of the patient by following through on health care provider orders for treatments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records. Completes diagnostic coding and procedure coding. Keeps patient information confidential. Counsels patients regarding physician's treatment and answers questions. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. Draws labs ensures proper patient identification and labeling of samples. Maintains records of tests performed and blood samples taken.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: One-year of medical assisting experience. One year of experience performing clinical lab testing duties. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with current certification as a Medical Assistant. Understanding of medical terminology, and lab-testing techniques. Ability to create and maintain a safe and effective clinical lab environment being mindful of lab standards, procedures, and expectations. Experience using of Electronic Health Records, preferably NextGen. Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette. Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
