* Charges scanned to the billing office must be posted into billing system within 24-48 hours.
* Must be able to identify possible billing errors that might prevent the claim from being processed on the insurance company level.
* Must be familiar with medical insurance companies ex: Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurances.
* Must have the ability to verify patient's coverage and demographic information draw conclusions and resolve issues with allotted clinic managers/coders.
* Knowledge of co-payments and ability to post to correct account from excel spreadsheet.
* Under general direction, handles the billing functions; ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations and performs other related duties as assigned.
* Comply with HIPPA rules and regulations, along with PGU/CBO policies and procedures.
* Must be detail-oriented and possess the ability to prioritize their workload and be motivated to stay busy and work independently.
* Help identify ways to improve billing procedures.
* Ability to work under deadlines and a high volume conditions, along with the ability to multi-task and deal with change constructively.
